  1. Registration & Application — Candidates register online, fill in personal and category details, and upload photo/signature as per specifications.
  2. Admit Card / Hall Ticket — Issued a few days before the exam with the allotted center, shift, date, and reporting time. It usually carries exam-specific instructions.
  3. Reporting & Verification — At the center, staff verify photo ID, admit card, and often capture biometrics (fingerprint/iris) and a live photograph. Frisking and checking of permitted items happens here.
  4. Seating Allotment — Candidates are guided to a specific system, usually pre-assigned to prevent last-minute swapping.
  5. Login & Instructions — Candidates log in with a roll number/ registration ID and a password or OTP, then go through on-screen instructions and a demo question.
  6. The Test Window — A fixed-duration test runs with a visible countdown timer, a question palette showing attempted/marked/unattempted status, and navigation controls.
  7. Submission — Candidates submit manually or the system auto-submits when time expires. A confirmation screen is usually shown.
  8. Post-Exam — Response sheets and, where applicable, provisional answer keys are released; candidates may raise objections during a challenge window before final results are declared.
